Under the Trump administration, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has seen its role diminished.

“People wondered when I got — when I took the job if I was going to try and shut the place down, and I told them no, because I can’t,” Acting director Mick Mulvaney said at the American Bankers Association summit earlier this year. While not shut down, the CFPB has curbed its actions on all fronts.
